[MFP] SMDP Online - Savings Groups and Market Facilitation

Convenient online courses hosted by development professionals with global experience.

Where practice and learning meet"

The Carsey School of Public Policy is very happy to announce the inauguration of SMDP Online, which will carry on the tradition of high quality, maximum impact practitioner training that our face-to-face programs have offered for many years. Like the other SMDP programs, our online courses will feature the most experienced practitioner/trainers in the development finance and market development fields.

We are offering two courses for the first SMDP Online sequence. The first is a blended course that takes place online and in the field in Lusaka, Zambia. The second is entirely online but includes field research that will take place as part of the course of study.

Savings Groups:
Building Scale and Impact through Adaptation and Experimentation
A Blended Online Course for Savings Groups Professionals

Online
June 15 - October 23, 2015

Face-to-Face during SMDP Zambia
November 2 - November 6, 2015

Facilitator: Nanci Lee

Understanding and Adapting to Complex Markets: An online course for market development professionals

Online
June 29 - October 30, 2015

Facilitator: Mary Morgan

Markets are complex. Even after conducting a market analysis, the market facilitation interventions that are designed and implemented sometimes go awry for reasons that we missed in the analysis or because of unforeseen factors that appear from out of nowhere. How can we adapt to these new circumstances and still influence improving stability in a market where the poor are operating as suppliers and consumers?
