[MFP] Is Your Institution Ready to Develop its Own Agent Network?

For a financial institution, developing its own proprietary agent network is a tantalizing option when it comes to expanding financial inclusion. However, it offers both potential advantages and perils. In this 4th DFS model, a financial institution identifies, recruits, trains, brands and manages its own network of third-party agents which distributes its financial products and services.

Is developing an agent network right for your institution? Find out in this free toolkit from UNCDF/MicroLead, Develop Own Network. Inside, you will get:

1. A step-by-step guide to implement this agent model

2. A real-world case study of an FSP that developed its own agent network, and the opportunities and challenges it presented

3. A budget template

4. A risk mapping exercise

5. Key performance indicators so your financial institution can track its success

[MFP] Microfin Training in Washington DC; Lima, Peru; and Guatemala City, Guatemala

Colleagues,

(Se repite en Español abajo.)

I have let you know about upcoming Business Planning with Microfin trainings in the past, and I'm happy to inform you of the next training course in Washington DC, September 23-29, 2017.  I have also fixed dates and locations in Lima, Peru October 16-20, 2017 and Guatemala City, Guatemala October 23-27, 2017.  The training lasts five days and we discuss elements of good strategic planning and relate them to operational assumptions that generate quality financial projections in future months and years.  Each element of Microfin is explained and delegates will leave with a good understanding of how to implement Microfin in their own organizations.  If you have downloaded Microfin and have had difficulty understanding how to use it, this training is for you.  If you have just joined a microfinance program and were shown briefly how to use Microfin but still have questions, this training is for you.  If you would like to increase your marketability in the microfinance sector, this training is also for you.

We will use version 4.15 of Microfin for the training, which was released on June 21, 2017 and includes useful and significant features on debt repayment.  It is highly likely that a new version of Microfin will be available for this training which help larger institutions, perhaps those with more than 100,000 clients, consolidate several individual microfin projections into one, thus solving the "large number" problem that many MFIs have faced.

The training will start at 9:00 AM and end each day and end by 5:00 PM, except for the last day when we will end after our lunch break, approximately 2:00 PM, thus giving delegates time to explore the area or catch an earlier flight home.  The cost of the training is $1,100 which rewards those who can commit to attending the training with advance notice.  The regular price of the training is $1,250.  Summary information particular to each course follows:

Washington DC:

Early registration ends August 28, 2017

Registration cutoff September 18, 2017

See some additional details regarding the training here.

Download the registration form here.

If you are anticipating traveling from outside of the United States to attend the training, please make visa application immediately.   If you need further information on the course for your visa, please let me know.

Lima, Peru:

Early registration ends September 18

Registration Cutoff October 9, 2017

See some additional details regarding the training here.

Download the registration form here.

Guatemala City, Guatemala:

Special early registration ($900!) ends August 15

See some additional details regarding the training here.

If you have difficulty in downloading the software or other files, please feel free to take a screen capture of any error message and send it along to me.  I suspect that some have had difficulty, but I lack specifics to troubleshoot these errors on my side.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in a future training session.

Colegas,
