[MFP] UNCDF/MicroLead's 3rd DFS Toolkit for FSP Managers is Here! Leverage an Existing Agent Network

In this third model, leveraging an existing agent network, the MFI forms a partnership with a digital financial service provider (DFSP), and the MFI provides its own products and services using the DFSP's network. It's a form of agency banking, where customers can deposit and withdraw money from their account with the MFI to their mobile money account and/or make over-the-counter transactions. MFI  managers and professionals can find out if this model is right for their financial institution and download the free toolkit (in French and English) at the link below.

[MFP] Reminder: Microfin Training Opportunities - June and July 2017

Colleagues,

MFI Resources is excited to invite you to attend one of the upcoming Business Planning with Microfin trainings.  Both of these trainings are offered due to popular demand from previous trainings.  The online training was offered in December 2016 and the Ghana in-person training was offered in March 2017.  The online training is offered June 26-30, 2017 at UTC 03:00 and UTC 13:00 and the onsite training in Accra, Ghana July 11-14, 2017.  This will be the last time Microfin training will be offered in Africa this year, although trainings are being planned for Central America and South America in October 2017.

Microfin is the most widely used financial planning and budgeting software in use world-wide for the microfinance industry.  Howard Brady took over the development and primary training of Microfin in April 2016, and is the trainer in both of the events mentioned above.  The software remains free and can be downloaded along with tutorial videos and the Using Microfin 4 manual here.

Further details about the online course - Registration cost increases NEXT WEEK:
The online course uses the GoToTraining platform which allows participants to interact with each other as well as the facilitator.  Participants will see Microfin in action on their computer screens and hear the workings of it explained before being provided time to work through the Microfin case study each day for two hours during the week.  After each session, the audio and video recordings will be made available for download for future reference, if needed.

Ten hours of training will be given, two hours each day for each time slot.  Two time slots are chosen to provide opportunities for individuals wishing to participate from both hemispheres.  The first time slot is UTC 03:00 on June 26, 2017.  To convert this to your local time, please visit this link:

Further details about the Accra Ghana course:
This training will be held at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration- (GIMPA) - Accra Ghana,  The course is non-residential, meaning that participants will need to secure their own accommodations if not residing in Accra or the surrounding communities.

The training will be a four day course, starting on Tuesday July 11, 2016.  This slightly accelerated course will provide all participants with a good knowledge of the Microfin software and the ability to ask questions and understand how the software can be implemented with the particular loan products and operating conditions which may be common or uncommon in other places in the world.

The cost of the training is GHs 2,800.00 for those in Ghana.  For those from international locations outside of Ghana the cost will be USD 1,000 until June 15, 2017.  After June 15, 2017, the cost increases to USD 1,100.  All applications must be received by June 26, 2017.
