Re: [MFP] Blockchain and Digital Identity in Microfinance

Doe e-KYC do away with documentation - then for every transaction do you need biometric authentication?  How does one connect the customer with the e-KYC done at the time of acquisition?
Best regards

Hi A

As you must have seen the block chain power for delivery of any product or service. The same is being tested here in India to get the smart contracts with e kyc .
The smart contract will put other issues of documentation to rest. E authentication will do away with documentation. Plus jlg or shg members will add confirmation.

On recovery methodology we are trying few novel processes.

Presently system is in pilot stage. Will move to next levels in few weeks.

As I am sure many of you are encountering these terms, I am curious to know if any MFI out there is experimenting with the provision of a digital identity to its customers as a means to empower them to engage in other types of services. I've been in several discussion around the blockchain technology, and I have argued that if any sector (industry) has the potential to harness the concept and use of this technology, it would be the MFI sector.

There is lots of talk on blockchain and providing digital identity to farmers, but I have yet to see any real example.

Glad to see this list-serve is still going!!
