Apologies for those who are also part of the Microfin group list, but I wanted to update those who may not be part of the Microfin list as well.
A quick update on Microfin:
I’ve uploaded the tutorials (demos, instructional videos) to the website, both in English and Spanish. Granted they are 10 years old, and they show how microfin used to work before Excel 2007 came out with its large ribbon. You can click on one of the videos and watch it by itself through your web browser, or you could download a ‘zip’ file in English or Spanish and uncompress them and watch them offline. Do note that all 66 videos, even when compressed, result in a 200 MB download, which may take some time, depending on the speed of your internet connection. The Microfin website continues to be: microfin.mfiresources.org
I also forgot to note that the “check to see if there’s a new version of microfin” message doesn’t appear with this latest release. The internal date check was updated for the release date so this message won’t appear for another six months, approximately.
I would be very happy if you’d take 5 minutes or less to fill out a very brief survey regarding your use of Microfin. There are 4 brief questions before I ask for your contact information. This will help me gauge the effort I should devote to further development of the software as well as the demand for training on Microfin and related business planning.
