Dear All,
I joined the group in the year 2008, when I started my career in microfinance. The discussions here have been full of high voltage ideas, concepts, best practices, technology integration among many other things concerning microfinance. Learned a lot from the exchange of thoughts by all of the visionary and respected members. The pandemic has given a serious setback to the microfinance sector, as over the years it mostly has been a high touch or in-person model. The leaders might have engaged in bringing their respective entities back to the track, which I believe have impacted the group activity. Nevertheless, the group has served its purpose, youngsters like me have learned many aspects out of the discussion. Thank you so much Mr. Waterfield for this great initiative. Can me make it alive on other platforms like on LinkedIn or somewhere else?
Best Regards to All,
Arjun Pagal

Hi Chuck,
Thank you so much for helping microfinance practitioners have a vehicle to debate, learn, and keep in touch. I found this group helpful over the years. I want to send my wishes for success in all your future activites, no matter what they are.

Hi Chuck,
Closing down Microfinance Practice is the end of an era. Thank you for maintaining this site over all these years. Microfinance Practice was where all of us debated the issues related to our field for many years, and it has been great to see new posting from time to time.
I know it was a lot of work, but Microfinance Practice served a valuable purpose.
Have fun with the goats - a more reasonable activity I'm sure,
With appreciation,
Jeff

Subject: [MFP] MFP is completely coming to an end tomorrow
Hi all,
Howard and I set up this email group on Yahoo on 1 May 2001, over 19 years ago. We have 2,656 members. In the past, there was a large amount of discussion on this group, but for various reasons, it currently has little activity.
I just got notice that Yahoo is closing down the email group service tomorrow. They gave not even a week's notice. As of tomorrow, your emails will be returned as unsinkable.
So this is it…. Any discussions will now have to take place on other services you've migrated to. I'm certainly not going to go to the effort of setting up a new group and managing memberships when there is so little activity on the current group.
It has certainly been an interesting (and tumultuous) 19 years. Lots of differing views on the changes that happened in so short a time. Discussions of those views will now need to take place in other venues.
Regards to all,
Chuck Waterfield
MFP Founder
And yes… .it's 7am, I need to head out and milk my goats. They are wondering where I am.
