Course Objectives:
- Present the theoretical background to savings groups
- Visit a savings group and witness a savings and credit meeting
- Be exposed to the methodological approaches and training tools employed by the major implementing organisations
- Be trained in the most widely-used Savings Group methodology: the Village Savings Loan Associations (VSLA) methodology
- Receive an introduction to the most widely-used management information system (MIS)
- Be introduced to the most successful approaches to programme design.

Course 2: Monday, April 15, to Friday, April 19 (five full-day sessions)
Savings Groups: Management Information Systems
Facilitator: Hugh Allen
Scope:
- Organisational structure and MIS
- Financial logic
- Data requirements, definitions, collection, and auditing
- Setting up your MIS for your own organisation, in the workshop
- Data output, analysis, and application in management
- Creation of private networks
- Posting to the SAVIX
- Administrative tools.
