I saw this too on LinkedIN and was puzzled. With over-indebtedness in many parts of India rising to even more dramatic levels than in 2010, I could not understand why anyone would succumb to the narrative that there is still some sort of shortage. It seem another turn of the old 'absurd gap' canard floated by ACCIOn and others in the 2000s to keep the momentum behind expansion and also 'explain' why microcredit was not making the positive impact they were claiming it was making. Coincidentally, I just got sent a great article just out yesterday by Isabelle Guerin et al on the Indian situation and it shows how over-indebtedness is a major problem, not a shortage;
